UMPS

As one of the largest Persian Societies in Europe, the aim of the UMPS is primarily to create a friendly environment for all the students, academics and individual with an interest in Persian/Iranian Culture and History. Also it acts as a platform to introduce and promote Iran to other ethnics, cultures and religions.

UMPS provides opportunities for participation in events and activities of cultural merit on such themes as arts, architecture, calligraphy, crafts, cuisine, family, fashion, film, folklore, food, games, history, language, literature, music, mythology, painting, philosophy, photography, poetry, recipes, storytelling, and theatre.

The Persian Society is part of the University of Manchester Students Union and operates on a voluntary, not-for-profit basis. It is not affiliated to any political party and does not support any particular religion.
